What can you expect?
A ‘slow burner” shy yet complex wine – a mélange of orange blossom, cling peach, tangerine & green citrus, green pineapple, hay, flirtations of gun flint, Rooibos, honied almonds & white spice abound on the bouquet. The palate is taut ‘n tad unyielding with a satisfying lengthy finish & zippy citrus rind acidity.
Food pairing?
A perfect partner for roast fowl, duck or pork, traditional Cape Malay & mild Cantonese cuisine, firm fine fromage & charcuterie or enjoy as an aperitif.
Serving suggestion:
Serve lightly chilled & best decanted. Vagabond most definitely benefits from careful cellaring, as it allows the it slowly gain complexity, nuance & generosity. You can Cellar this wine for 8 years plus.
