Glen Scotia Victoriana, a true Campbeltown whisky, inspired by Victorian times. This cask strength (54.2% abv) single malt is one for the whisky connoisseurs. Master distiller, Iain McAllister, hand selects the casks from the reserve cellar. Each cask is chosen for its rare characteristics, exceptional maturity, and the flavours it can bring to this single malt scotch whisky. Finished in deep charred oak, the result is an exceptionally smooth single malt whisky whose aroma and flavour work in harmony.
Nose: An elegant nose with hints of oak driving the bouquet. Interesting crème brulé notes leading to generous caramelized fruits, citrus peels and finally polished oak.
Palate: Bottled in the traditional way, straight from the cask and without filtration, its subtle wood and vanilla flavour is enhanced by a mildly smokey aftertaste. Sweet and concentrated start with some jammy blackcurrant fruitiness. A big mid palate. Typical tightening towards the back palate. Becomes more austere with water.
Finish: Clean and initially sweet finish. Then green bean, with a cocoa characteristic like dark chocolate. Gentle smoke on the finish courtesy of the deeply charred oak.
