Windy growing and ripening periods resulted in smaller berries, which lead to good concentration of both, colour and flavour, making 2020 an exceptional year for red wines. The 2020 Boulder Road Shiraz from the Dombeya range of Haskell Vineyards is testament to this. The Dombeya tree, native to South Africa, has extraordinarily beautiful flowers which herald in South Africa’s spring season. Dotted around the vineyards these trees embrace the cycle of regeneration and renewal, a fitting symbol of modern-day South Africa. The Dombeya portfolio consists of 5 wines; a varietal range of Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, and a Reserve range with Boulder Road Shiraz and the Bordeaux-style Fenix.
