The 2021 harvest resulted in some exceptional conditions for white wine with an abundance of cool weather during winter and spring. A slow growing season resulted in berries full of flavour with lower sugar levels. The grapes for this Chardonnay were handpicked on four different occasions in order to have a spread of flavours. All the grapes are whole bunch pressed in the cellar and fermented in French oak barrels for 12 months.
What can you expect?
The wine shows notes of delicate citrus aromas of blue orange and hits of lemon and lime rind which is followed by some beautiful notes of butterscotch and white almond. On the palate the wine has a clean crisp acidity with citrus flavors from the nose onto the palate. There is good complexity with long creamy textured finish.
Food pairing?
Asian food, any seafood especially mussels, roast chicken, fresh garden green salad, Moroccan lamb tagine.
