Name Inspiration:

Derived from the Latin term "Credo," meaning "I Believe," our Credo Shiraz embodies our winemakers' steadfast belief in crafting an elegant, ever-graceful wine that rivals the world's best. It is a testament to our dedication to excellence and pursuit of perfection.

The Vineyards:

Sourced from select vineyards within the renowned Helderberg area, our Shiraz grapes bask in the warm embrace of the South African sun. Handpicked at the peak of ripeness at the end of March 2017, they capture the essence of the terroir.

The Winemaking Process:

A harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, our Shiraz grapes are gently crushed by hand in small bins and cold-soaked for three days prior to fermentation. Fermented with a carefully selected yeast strain for 10 days, the wine is then aged in 300-liter French oak barrels for 24 months, with 60% of the barrels being first fill and 40% second fill. Barrel selection ensures only the finest barrels are chosen to impart their essence, resulting in a wine of unparalleled quality.

Winemaker's Comments:

An intense, deep purple hue sets the stage for an enchanting sensory journey. Aromas of spice and ripe mulberry fruit mingle with hints of bracken, liquorice, and coconut, inviting exploration. On the palate, soft, ripe fruit intertwines with ripe, fine tannins, bestowing excellent structure and a lingering finish that leaves a lasting impression.

Maturation Potential:

While delightful to enjoy now, our Credo Shiraz possesses the potential for further evolution and refinement over the next 10 years, promising continued delight with age.
